Maigret is a British boob tube series from ITV, which is ready in French republic in the mid-1950s.[iii] Its first episode aired on 28 March 2016 and the 2nd on Christmas Day 2016. A second serial (besides of two episodes) aired during 2017. It is an adaptation of the books by Georges Simenon featuring his fictional French detective Jules Maigret, who is played by Rowan Atkinson.[4]
Information technology was reported that the series was cancelled past the network in May 2018.[1] [ii] The serial premiered in the United States on 31 August 2019 on Ovation.[v]

The episodes were mainly filmed, on location, in Budapest and Szentendre, Hungary, which stand in for 1950s Paris.
Rowan Atkinson, who plays Jules Maigret, is a notable big fan of the books proverb, "I have been a devourer of the Maigret novels for many years and I'one thousand very much looking forward to playing such an intriguing character at work in Paris during a fascinating period in its history."[7] [viii]

These buildings on Alkotmány Street, Szentendre became the Picratt for Maigret in Montmartre.[ix]
Prior to the 2d episode'due south airing on 17 June 2016 and after the popularity of the starting time, ITV commissioned two farther episodes of which product was due to brainstorm in November 2016 and run until February 2017.[10]
